Introduction to the types of power/energy laser sensors
Power and single engine energy sensor
Ophir offers two types of power sensors: photodiode sensors and thermal sensors. Photodiode sensors are used for low power from picowatts to hundreds of milliwatts and up to 3W. Thermal sensors are suitable for power ranging from a fraction of a milliwatt to several kilowatts. The thermal sensor can also measure the single transmission energy at a pulse rate of no more than one pulse every 5 seconds.
Repetitive pulse energy sensor
For higher pulse rates, Ophir has pyroelectric energy sensors capable of measuring pulse rates up to several 10KHz.
