Online refractometer PR-23-GP
Ideal instrument for measuring concentrations during sugar pressing and refining. The PR-23-GP sensor can be mounted via flange or clamp connections.
The measurement range is 0-100% (weight percentage). The accuracy is usually ±0.1% (by weight), and temperature compensation is automatically performed during the measurement. Low and high concentration alerts can be configured.
Thanks to the digital sensing technology, PR-23-GP can measure dissolved sugars regardless of the effect of undissolved particles or crystals. Therefore, it is a reliable instrument for monitoring the concentration of syrup/mother liquor during crystallization.
The PR-23-GC is a compact industrial instrument suitable for small pipe and bypass line applications in general industry. The PR-23-GC sensor can be easily installed into the process. The user can install the sensor directly in the pipe elbow through the Sandvik clamp connection, or in the straight pipe through the Wafer or pipeline flow cell.
The Wafer flow cell without flange is a compact alternative to the traditional pipeline flow cell connected by flange. A Wafer is a flow cell body mounted with bolts and nuts between DIN, ANSI, or JIS pipe flanges. The Wafer type circulation pool adopts an integrated structure without welding seam. If harsh environments or aggressive process fluids require higher material grades to prevent chemical corrosion, more advanced alloys and special wet-part materials can be used.
The measurement range is 0-100% (weight percentage). The accuracy is usually ±0.1% (by weight), and temperature compensation is automatically performed during the measurement. Low and high concentration alerts can be configured. Due to the use of digital sensing technology, even a large number of suspended particles, bubbles, or color changes do not affect the measurement or accuracy.
Each sensor is accompanied by a calibration certificate, which is issued based on the comparison of a set of standard liquids with the actual sensor output. The calibration and accuracy can be verified in the field using a certified refractive index liquid and through the Vaisala calibration program.
The calibration method is universal and can be used with every refractometer: all refractometers are freely interchangeable.
The refractive index nD is measured from 1.3200 to 1.5300, corresponding to 0 to 100 Brix.
Full digital system: particles, crystals and bubbles do not affect operation or accuracy.
Users can use Ethernet connection and remote panel for data logging and remote operation.
Process temperature range: -20°C -- 150°C (-4°F -- 300°F).
Built-in Pt1000, fast temperature measurement and automatic temperature compensation work.
Dual connection: one transmitter can run two sensors independently. A second sensor can be easily added later.
Users can use refractive index standards to easily complete field instrument verification to meet their own quality assurance system requirements.
Designed for harsh environmentsThe Vaisala K‑PATENTS® In-line Refractometer PR-23-GC and PR-23-GC combine CCD camera technology with a rugged stainless steel sensor probe. The probe is designed to handle harsh process conditions, high temperatures, pressures and vibrations. Special wetted component materials are resistant to harsh environments and aggressive process fluids.
Installation and operation are simple and cost-effectiveThe online refractometer PR-23-G can be installed directly in the main process line, bypass line or vessel through a Sandvik clamp connection, or in a straight pipe through a Wafer or pipeline flow cell.
These models have an Ethernet-based communication solution that supports the establishment of a connection to computer networks and the Internet, thus obtaining real-time measurement data and diagnostic information through the interface, which also makes it a valuable service tool for parameter changes and software updates.
Online refractometers have no lights or moving parts that require regular maintenance or recaliphation. Users can easily achieve "install and no maintenance", which reduces the total cost of ownership.
Accurate and reliableThe Vaisala K‑PATENTS® Online Refractometers PR-23-GC and PR-23-GP measurements are based on the Vaisala technology, which utilizes solid-state optical elements and a CCD camera to digitally measure the refractive index. The measurement accuracy is ±0.0002 RI, which corresponds to 0.1% (percent by weight).
Due to the use of digital sensing technology, even a large number of suspended particles, bubbles, or color changes do not affect the measurement or accuracy.
