DCS Datasheet
The DCS series is a rack-mounted calibration station designed to produce a flow of air or nitrogen at a specified range of dew-point temperatures. The system operates within a minimum range of -100°C (-148°F) to a maximum of +20°C (+68°F). When ordering, the required operating range is specified, and the configuration is determined accordingly.
Each DCS system comprises the following components:
Air Compressor
An oil-free laboratory mini compressor generates clean compressed air to feed the air dryer system. The compressor may be housed within the calibration rack system (with a noise level below 72 dbA) or installed in a separate room with an air feed to the DCS system.
Pressure Swing Dryer
The dryer provides a source of dry or super dry air required by the generator.
PSD2 Dryer – Used with the DCS80 calibration system; supplies dry air with a dew point of -80°C (-112°F) or less in continuous operation.
PSD4 Dryer – Supplied with the DCS100 system; provides dry air with a dew point of -100°C (-148°F) or less.
An appropriate dryer is selected based on the specified dew-point range requirements.
The generator produces and allows adjustment of the flow of humidity-controlled calibration gas.
DCS60/80 Systems – Can be supplied with either a DG2 or ADG400 generator.
DG2– Allows full manual, analog control of the generated dew point via metering valves on the front panel.
ADG400 – Features a touchscreen HMI allowing the user to set the desired dew point or create and run an automated calibration profile. The generator can also be operated remotely and integrated into customer software via the USB interface.
DCS100 System – Supplied with a Vapor Delivery System (VDS) generator, which can be controlled directly or programmed to cycle through a range of outputs using dedicated control software.
The reference hygrometer provides a measurement of the calibration gas produced by the dew-point generator, allowing comparison against instruments under test. A chilled mirror hygrometer measures the temperature at which condensation forms. To ensure traceability to higher standards, the reference is supplied with either a national standards traceable calibration or a UKAS-accredited calibration.
DCS60
Supplied with an S8000 Integrale reference hygrometer. This unit is air-cooled and has the capability to measure dew points down to -60°C (-76°F).
DCS80
Supplied with an S8000 RS reference hygrometer, which includes an automatically controlled auxiliary cooling system. It has the capability to measure dew points down to -90°C (-130°F).
DCS100
Supplied with an S8000-100 reference hygrometer, which uses an automatically controlled auxiliary cooling system. It has the capability to measure dew points down to -100°C (-148°F).
A calibration manifold may be designed and built to suit any type of dew-point sensor or a combination of sensors from different manufacturers.
The complete system is mounted in a 19-inch rack unit. If using a high-purity air or nitrogen supply, this may be selected as a feed to the system instead of the integral compressor/dryer system.
