The IS6-C is a 6” integrating sphere (5.3” inside) for use with collimated (C) beams. It has no detectors, where the detection configuration for the IS6-C is done by the user. It can also be used as a uniform light source.
Aperture | Ø25mm |
Spectral Range | 200-2200nm |
Dimensions | Ø154 (mm) |
Max Average Power Density | 1 kw/cm² |
Max Beam Divergence | ±15 deg |
Sensitivity to Beam Size | ±1% |
What are the "beam size sensitivity" and "beam divergence sensitivity" specified by IS6 integrating sphere?
In general, as the divergence angle of the beam entering the integrating sphere increases - and as its diameter increases - the assumption based on the performance of the sphere (infinite reflection in the sphere wall, perfect uniform distribution of light in the sphere, etc.) becomes incorrect. Therefore, the maximum beam divergence angle (e.g. ± 60 degrees) is specified, and the maximum possible reading change due to a change in beam size is also described. The data sheet states that the maximum additional uncertainty is only ± 1% for beam sizes with beam divergence less than 30 degrees, and ± 3% for beam sizes with beam divergence greater than 30 degrees.
