The Vaisala K‑PATENTS® Hygienic OEM Refractometer PR-33-AC is designed to meet the needs of original equipment manufacturers (Oems) and integrators serving the beverage, dairy and food processing industries.
Hygienic OEM refractometer operation is not affected by particles, bubbles or color changes. Due to the digital sensing technology, even the presence of a large number of suspended particles or bubbles does not affect the measurement or accuracy.
Hygienic OEM refractometers can be installed on main process lines without bypassing devices.
The measurement ranges from 0 to 100 Brix with a precision of +/ -0.1 Brix and a repeatability of +/ -0.05 Brix. The measurements are automatically temperature compensated over the entire process temperature range from -20°C to 130 °C and are resistant to CIP (Cleaning in situ) and SIP (Disinfection in situ) processes. An output signal of 4-20 mA proportional to the temperature compensated Brix value is provided for real-time process control.
Hygienic OEM refractometers are factory calibrated and their digital measurement system requires no recaliphation or regular maintenance.
Each sensor is capable of measuring within a consistent refractive index range of (nD) 1,3200 to 1,5300, corresponding to 0 to 100 Brix at 100 °C. All sensors are freely interchangeable.
Full digital system: particles and bubbles do not affect measurement or accuracy.
CORE-Optics Optical module: no drift, no recalivity, no mechanical adjustment.
The built-in Pt1000 enables fast temperature measurement and automatic temperature compensation.
Users can use refractive index standards to easily complete field instrument calibration and accuracy verification to meet their own quality system requirements.
3-A Sanitary and EHEDG certification.
Can be installed directly in any process pipe via elbow flow tanks or Varivent® interfaces.
Parameter changes, software updates, and data downloads can be performed over an Ethernet connection and using the UDP/IP protocol.
Health certificationThe 3A mark ensures that the sanitary refractometer PR-33-A meets the 3A Sanitary Standard No. 46-04 (for refractometer and energy absorption optical sensors used in fluid product equipment for concentration detection) and that it has passed an independent third party authorized verification check for the 3A mark.
Maintain accurate and stable measurement at full scaleMeasurements are accurate over the entire concentration range from 0 to 100 brix: R.I. nD ±0.0002 typically corresponds to ±0.1 brix or ±0.1 percent by weight. The measurements are not affected by bubbles, particles, colors, or vibrations. The system supports CIP and SIP cleaning.
No periodic maintenance requiredNo maintenance is required because there are no moving parts in the refractometer that need to be replaced regularly. Completely digitize the meter. No drift calibration. No re-calibration or mechanical adjustment is required.
