Measure safely and accurately the concentrations of aggressive chemicals: hydrochloric acid (HCI), sodium hydroxide (NaOH), sodium chloride (NaCl), sulphuric acid (H₂SO₄), and hydrofluoric acid (HF)

Your process can have the most aggressive chemicals and corrosive elements, but we are up for the challenge. The Vaisala Polaris PR53M PFTE-body process refractometer is your choice for the chemical and semiconductor industries to measure aggressive chemicals as it has extreme chemical resistance and just plain durability in the harshest environments.

The integrated ultra-pure PTFE flow cell has no metallic wetted parts, making it fully suitable to be in contact with aggressive chemicals. The PR53M mounts into ½ inch process line with a standard NTP-threaded connection.

The instrument is ready to be used out-of-box, no need to convert anything on site. Choose your concentration curve from Vaisala’s library of over 500 options, and start your measurement with factory pre-installed concentration curve.

Always accurate, no drift

The measurement is based on optical measurement of the refractive index (RI). The RI can be measured from practically any liquid or slurry, and it is sensitive to dissolved material. Bubbles, particles or color do not affect the measurement.

Plug & play to Indigo

The process refractometers can be connected to Vaisala Indigo520 transmitter to expand features, including data storage, graphical interface, analog and digital interface.

Customizable product with our Engineer to Order service

In addition to wide standard process connection offering, Vaisala offers an opportunity to customize the product to meet specific processing needs whether it is a special process connection, wetted parts material, custom size flanges or custom type enclosure for transmitters (Ex d/Ex p).
